Interesting, Lynn. I guess eagles are too smart to fly into the planes engine...I hope.

YES our Bald Eagle count is way down. It has been very discouraging and the young are having a very hard time with all the snow cover etc.as they go for field mice etc. Where I once saw 100's there were 12 for Bald Eagle days in Fulton Lock and Dam 13 about an hour from me.

Lock and Dam 14 where I go regularly, had 60 or so a couple of weeks ago but they did not stay. There is maybe a dozen or so between that lock and dam and the Arsenal Lock and Dam 15. I obviously have gotten some photos but counts are way down. Folks are saying there are no fish. WELL we had a mandatory fish kill here in late summer to rid the Asian Carp from the waterways before they could get to the Great Lakes. I am sure we killed more than Asian Carp. Timing in my opinion made it very hard on migrating eagles/raptors etc. Articles here say chad the fish usually in abundance here for the eagles will bounce back quickly but its not going to change what is happening this year. As long as the eagles are all somewhere, although I do fear for their young. It's an even tougher first year than usual for them I am sure.
